Kham, Tibet The monastery of Yangting Dechen Ling in Kham, Tibet, was founded by the renowned meditator Je Lodö Namgyal, one of the foremost disciples of Je Tsongkhapa. The monastery was established in 1421, just a few years after Jamchen Chöje Shakya Yeshi founded Sera Monastery in 1419 in Tibet. The construction of Yangting Dechen Ling’s new prayer hall was successfully completed very recently after much hard work and dedication. The huge mesmerizing prayer hall was inaugurated in a grand ceremony on August 10, 2010, as part of a four-day event with diverse celebratory programs. This monumental hall was built specifically to spread and preserve the pure tradition of Je Tsongkhapa and the Buddhadharma in the Kham region. Readers' Comments
