Chang Chub Choling

Gaden Chang Chub Choling was founded in 1980 and officially inaugurated in May 1986 by Ven. Geshe Khenrab Gajam Rinpoche. This center was established out of his deepest wish to create a place that would bring the Mahayana Buddhist tradition, established by Je Tsongkhapa, to many others.

To this end, Ven. Geshe Tsultim Tenzin Rinpoche, an exceptional Geshe of Gaden Jangtse Monastery, and his two disciples, Ven. Zawa Tulku Rinpoche and Ven. Lobsang Tashi, traveled to Montreal, Canada to establish a monastic Sangha community at Gaden Chang Chub Choling.

Since the temple was established, the monks at Chang Chub Choling have provided the opportunity for many to study and practice the Dharma according to tradition. The practices of this center follow the traditions and lineage which Geshe Khenrab Gajam Rinpoche practiced throughout his life. This includes the propitiation of the Protector Dorje Shugden.

Chang Chub Choling

After Geshe Khenrab Gajam Rinpoche passed into clear light in 1993, Chang Chub Choling came under the guidance of Geshe Tsultim. As Geshe Tsultim was then needed in Austria to guide the studies of the current Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche, his students Zawa Rinpoche and Ven. Lobsang Tashi became actively engaged in the activities at the temple. There are ongoing plans to expand the monastic congregation.
